What an incredible way to close out the 2026 season!

Over two nights at Ruel Fields in Oxford, eight teams battled through seven playoff games filled with walk-off wins, upsets, dominant pitching, big innings, and unforgettable moments.
Championship Wednesday opened with two semifinal matchups. Charlton Post 391 defeated top-seeded Sturbridge Post 109, 3-1, while Webster-Dudley Post 184 advanced with a 17-5 win over Cherry Valley Post 443.
That set the stage for the title game.

Congratulations to Charlton Post 391 on an outstanding championship run and to Webster-Dudley Post 184 on an incredible season and runner-up finish.
Members of the American Legion Family were in attendance throughout the tournament, helping present awards, support the teams, and celebrate the championship:

Department Adjutant Lisa McPhee, Softball Committee Chairman Jodie Pajak, Softball Committee Vice Chairman Louie Brault, Commander’s Aide Bob Lewis
District 4 Commander Rebecca Cronin, Sons of The American Legion Detachment Commander Jesse Limanek
Thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, umpire, family, sponsor, and member of the Legion Family who helped make this season a success. From Opening Day to our first All-Star Game, the Kelly A. McCue Memorial Scholarship presentation, and now crowning our 2026 champions, this league continues to grow because of all of you.
Congratulations again to Charlton Post 391!

From One Team to Eight: Massachusetts American Legion Softball Makes History with First-Ever All-Star Game
What began as one woman’s dream has grown into an eight-team league serving 120 student-athletes across Central Massachusetts.
Now in its third season, the Massachusetts American Legion Softball League reached another milestone on July 13 when it hosted the first Massachusetts American Legion Softball All-Star Game at Slater Field in Webster.
The East vs. West showcase celebrated more than outstanding play on the field. It honored the leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication and positive attitudes of the young women who have helped shape a growing program and create new opportunities for female athletes across the Commonwealth.
The league began with the vision of Jodie Pajak, Chairman of the Massachusetts American Legion Softball Committee. Pajak spent years working to bring American Legion Softball to Massachusetts, believing young women deserved the same opportunity to compete and represent their communities that American Legion Baseball has provided for generations.
That vision took a major step forward in 2023 when Mark McCue approached Sue Sears, president of the Leicester Girls Softball League, about forming a team through Cherry Valley Post 443.

American Legion Softball is back to Massachusetts in 2026.
The MA American Legion Softball Fastpitch League is sanctioned by the American Legion, Department of Massachusetts and will mirror that of MA American Legion Baseball. Offering a program for Lady high school softball players will help teams develop during the summer and keep teams together. Recruitment rules are similar to American Legion Baseball which will keep the team's community based and avoid the creation of ‘super teams’ but will still allow for team co-op. If you are interested in forming a team and/or would like updates on the status of this new program, please submit your contact information and we will be in contact as plans progress. Registration will open January 1st
